Feature Set:  

Jupiter Images, a division of Jupitermedia Corporation, offers seven different subscription options including Jupiter Images Unlimited, which offers a multimedia subscription at $599/month or a high-resolution subscription at $2499/month. They also offer less pricey options through Liquid Library, Comstock 1700, Photos.com, PhotoObjects.net and Clipart.com.

With membership, you can download free unwatermarked comped images, get pricing, licensing and account information instantly. Through Jupiter Images, you can access your personal lightbox and manage or email your images. You can also immediately download images purchased as part of a CD collection.

They offer several licensing options including rights-managed and royalty free images. License fees vary according to expected use.

It is the only service reviewed that provides custom CDs of images of your choice; this is a great back up option.

Jupiter Images provides some of the best services in the market; however, they do not provide many special interest choices and do not offer assignment photographers or prints available for projects.

Search/Sort Options:  

Jupiter Images support searches by keyword, theme, artist name, color name, release status, orientation and color or black and white. However, they do not include the option to search by specific color or color number.

Their searches produce relevant results even for unique searches like 'golden' or complex like a 'young, happy boy and green.'

Quality:  

Jupiter Images offers colorful, bright and provocative images through collections such a Botanica, Ibid, Oxford Scientific and their exclusive collection Photis. Although they offer high quality images, available through subscription, their impressions fall short of Getty's collection of entrancing art images and enticing digital images.

Selection:  

Jupiter Images offers over seven million images online that include not only illustrations and photographs but also clip art, object photos and vector images. They also provide CD collections. This stock photography site provides its members access to 27 royalty-free collections and 20 rights-managed collections.

However, unlike Getty they do not offer celebrity or medical imagery.

Summary:  

Jupiter Images, vitalized with over seven million enterprising images, floors nearly all of the competition. They offer exceptional customer service and many subscription options to create a dynamic service for designers and artists with a wide variety of needs and backgrounds.
